If your McAfee Antivirus software detects an issue, you see an At-risk exclamation point and the status of your protection in the Security Center changes from green to either red or gray. In this case, the Firewall of the McAfee is disabled. For any information about McAfee software, you can visit McAfee.com/Activate.
This message can occur for any of the below reasons:-
The Firewall is installed but is completely disabled. This problem is the most likely cause of the message.
The Firewall is not installed but is always available for installation.
The Firewall is not installed and is currently not available for installation.
Download and run the McAfee Repair and Diagnose tool (Computer System only)
McAfee Repair and Diagnose tool (McAfee-DR) is an automated tool that repairs and diagnoses problems with your McAfee Antivirus software product. If McAfee-DR is unable to solve the problem, your support technician can use the data and information collected to resolve the problem. By clicking Run and Download below, you are indicating that you have agreed and read to the McAfee End User License Agreement.

Solution 1
Step 1: Try to manually enable the Firewall
Open your McAfee Antivirus software product.
If you see a blue then click on the button of Turn it on.
If you do not see a button of Turn it on, click the configure button in the top-right corner, or click Navigation if you have a product that is quite older.
Click on the option of Firewall.
Click on the button of Turn On.
Return to the window of the main product.
Check to see if the Firewall is completely on. You can stop at this step if the problem is solved.
Check to see if:
-The At risk message still shows on the screen.
-The Firewall is turned on. If the Firewall is still off, expand the Step 2, below, and follow the mentioned steps.
Step 2: You need to Run the McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) tool.
Step 3: Reinstall your McAfee Antivirus software program.
Solution 2
Step 1: Install the Firewall
NOTE: For this particular step, choose to install straight from the Home tab of your McAfee Antivirus software product (Option 1, below), or from the window of Available Features (Option 2, below):
Option 1 – Install the Firewall from the tab of Home:
Open your McAfee Antivirus software product.
Now, click the Home tab.
If you see a blue Install button in the window, click it.
NOTE: If you do not see the blue color Install button, then go to Option 2.
Option 2 – Install the Firewall from the following Available Features:
In Available Features, to the left of Firewall, select the check box and start the process of installation.
Wait for the installation to finish. It might take a while to install and download the Firewall component.
When the installation is complete, close the on-screen window.
Reboot your computer system.
When you have completed either of the above options, then you have to check to see if:
-The Firewall is turned on.
-The At risk message still shows on the screen.
If the Firewall is still off after trying the above options, then you have to go to Step 2:
Step 2: You need to Run the McAfee Virtual Technician (MVT) tool.
Step 3: Reinstall your McAfee Antivirus software program
Solution 3
Reinstall your McAfee Antivirus software.
It is quite possible that your McAfee software installation is corrupt and beyond repair. If so, you must reinstall your McAfee Antivirus software as shown below. When the installation is complete, check to see if the Firewall is turned on.
Uninstall your McAfee Antivirus software by following the uninstall guide.
Run the McAfee Pre-Install tool:
-Download the McAfee Pre-Install Tool.
NOTE: Save the file to a temporary location, such as the desktop of your windows.
-Double-click the Pre-Install_Tool.exe file, and follow the prompts.
-Read the warning message, and click on OK button to agree to the changes.
After the McAfee Pre-Install Tool completes:
-Click on OK button.
-Click on Close.
Reboot your computer system.
Install your McAfee Antivirus software again.
Check to see if:
-The At risk message still shows on your screen.
-The Firewall is turned on.
